Jon Kennedy ’82 unlocks remarkable through Flow-Through Share donation
June 12, 2026From September 1987 through June 1997, TCS was home to three brothers from Nova Scotia: Don, Andy, and Jamey. Each lived in Bickle House and enjoyed successful tenures, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. They were also recipients of financial assistance. Thirty years later, the Harrison family is now returning the favour in a transformational way.
TCS is very proud to announce the creation of the Harrison Family Bursary, made possible by a remarkable $1.5 million USD commitment. Their award provides full tuition assistance to bright and deserving students. This powerful full-circle initiative ensures that the same door of opportunity that opened for them remains accessible to the next generation of future leaders.
From the Maritimes to the Global Stage
Though their professional lives have taken them across the globe, from the tech hubs of California to the financial centres of Asia, their roots remain firmly planted in Nova Scotia.
All three were bursary recipients during their time at TCS, and they credit the School as the pivotal launchpad for their diverse & distinguished careers:
- Don Harrison ’90 is a titan in Silicon Valley at Google, leading some of the Internet’s most significant corporate development and acquisition strategies.
- Andy Harrison ’94, has been both a high-level technology executive and leader in the venture capital sector, where has invested in some of the world’s most innovative companies.
- Jamey Harrison ’97 rose through the legal ranks to become a leading lawyer in the world of international finance and insurance. He currently serves as a senior executive for Manulife in Hong Kong.
On behalf of themselves and their loving parents, and despite the miles of separation, the brothers joined together with a singular vision: to pay forward the support they received.
The Harrison Family bursary
Beginning in September, the Harrison Family Bursary will provide financial assistance to a deserving student. In a heartfelt nod to their heritage, preference will be given to students from Nova Scotia.
“We know firsthand how a TCS education can change one’s trajectory,” the brothers shared. “Our hope is that this bursary removes barriers for many talented students, allowing them to bring their unique perspectives to the TCS community and eventually to the world stage.”
A Heartfelt Thank You
Our entire community extends its deepest gratitude to the Harrisons. While the three brothers’ global success in technology, law and finance is impressive, it is their shared commitment to philanthropy and creating opportunities for others that truly defines their legacy.
This new bursary cements the Harrison name to the success of future students who, like them, will arrive at TCS with big dreams and leave with the tools to lead.
